Having recently scrolled through my Twitter Timeline today I saw @Diamond_London having a lil survey with her followers, asking, how much people would be willing to spend on a first date with the general response being around £50. She then asked where could you take someone in London for £50? Which got me thinking, surely there are many places you could go for that price with someone,no? below is a list I compiled with just that in mind and seeing as Valentines Day is just around the corner, just in time right?!
Apollo Banana Leaf- South Indian/Sri Lankan Cusine- Tooting - meal for 2 around £20 incl. soft drinks
Borough market - Variety of takeaway stalls and rich london history - av. £8 each!
Bacon Burger (Mare Street) - Wide Selection of tasty burgers and unique sides - av. £10 each!
Cafe 338(Bethnal Green) - a lovely cafe come diner, serves great brunch meals and milkshakes!
Camden Head (Camden) - Absolutely FREE comedy club, hosts an event every saturday with the odd celebrity feature and moderately priced drinks you can't really go wrong!
Caravaggio(Camberwell) - Traditional Authentic Italian, lunch special Main + Drink £6.50 each!
ECO(Clapham) - Nice Stone baked pizza the traditional italian way, around £10 per pizza!
Franks (Peckham) - A pop up bar, only open during the Summer, at the top of peckham multiplex car park,snacks,drinks and ice cream are moderately priced and the view is quite amazing!
Gelato Mio (Holland Park) - Quick scoop of ice cream? just £2.50 per scoop!
Greenwich Park - just outside the observatory there is a spot where you can see the entire river thames and all it's beautiful scenery, great place for a first date and totally free with local bars all around!
London Zoo - Book in advance and get tickets for around £20 not a bad first date either!
London Eye(Waterloo/Southbank) - often pricey but booked in advance you can grab tickets for £17!
Madame Tussauds (Baker Street)- a bit pricey at £30 each but a fun date nonetheless!
NEW Fujiyama (Brixton)- just around the corner, a small japanese restaurant with a variety of rice,noodle or sushi mains, ranging £10-£20 per plate!
Olivers Music Bar (Greenwich) - Great live music, particularly on a Friday night, often Jazz and Blues, relatively priced bar, get there early to secure your own candlelit table and your set!
Open Air Theatre (Regents Park) - Outdoor theatre with an ever changing list of shows, adult tickets at just £15 each!
Red River Rover - a river tour, flowing down the thames you can jump on/off at a variety of stops with a bar on deck serving drinks, tickets are available at 50% off until march just £8.50!
Satay Bar (Brixton) - Wide variety of currys,stir-frys and grilled meals, mains under £10 each!
Somerset House Ice Skating - must book in advance as this is not an all year round even but adult tickets go for about £7.50 a head and is tres romantique (not really french lol)
The Albany (Deptford) - A nice cozy theatre, tickets ranging between £10-15 and drinks and snacks available throughout the night!
