Dynamic MP - Kairos EP

Dynamic MP showcases his EP: kairos -an opportune moment, simply a work of Art, consisting of 11 Tracks. When listening to a piece of work before writing a review I put the playlist on shuffle just to hear all the songs individually without the guidance the Artist implies himself. Luck would have it I started off Without One of my personal favourite tracks, the mellow vibe introduced me to DynamicMP's unique style. At a first listen i'd compare the sound to boom-bap rap, or neo soul, with sounds inspired by the likes of DJ Premier and J Dilla, this was my first impression, and I loved it.

 

 

Though to be honest, this was not my first introduction to Dynamic, I had previously heard Clouds and was pleasantly to hear it made its way on the tracklist. As I slipped through and dipped into Track 4 Scorpio's Travels I was once again compelled, the upbeat, jumpy backing track complimented by the tones of Murugzz was a nice change of pace whilst sticking to the initial blueprint. The overall delivery of the EP is superb, this is good music, well produced and crafted.

This is the sort of music I'd play for a long journey to distant places, poetry in motion if you will. Minimal features is always a bonus when introducing new talent and this EP is no exception, Dynamic ensures his message isn't diluted or over saturated by the voices of others, the features boost but don't steer focus.

With a variety of well produced instrumentals much credit must go to Tom Misch, Freddie Joachim, AmiR, Soulquarians.Stuttz and last but not least Riko.

BIG NARSTIE & FLIRTA D - FOOLISH BASE (GRIME AMV) @JMIXERLDN

Big Narstie partners up with Flirta D to bring us Foolish Base but thanks to @JMIXERLDN 's addition puts a completely Gassed spin on it. With an AMV featuring scenes from X-Men the original series and Dragonball Z - namely scenes of the Buu Saga (!) this made me prepared to go out and just do a complete madness, how nostalgic and creative huh. The tunes a total banger and this video is a must watch - With BASE!

Jumping on such a wavy instrumental- and I use the term appropriately as this was rode by the wave man himself (Max B feat. Haze - Profiling) - set my expectations high, Profound delivers a solid hook got it sounding Real Wavy. Profound also follows up with a strong verse, passionate and consistent with his delivery, Firmz maintains the momentum and gels neatly with a solid second verse. This is something you can really zone too, such a calm sound and vibe ~

Dynamic [@TheImageGod] - Smokers Only [Mixtape Download]

Dynamic, the self-proclaimed Image God returns with his latest musical installment - Smokers Only. As the title suggests this is one for the smokers and though the sounds and overall vibe of the mixtape are easy listening and mellow, I must say as a smoker myself this is to be enjoyed with a King L no less. 

 

As you can see, the features are minimal but ever SoNecessary, Nezanet Beraki applies a sexy,sultry sound to the opening track High Life which really gives the listener a taste of what to expect. The overall theme is laidback, with a smoke dancing in the air, cognac straight on the rocks feel to it. The beat selection works well and Dynamic gels effortlessly, smooth lyrics and soft, soulful choruses really bring it all together

A varied combination of innuendo's, witty punchlines and thought provoking messages throughout had me in deep contemplation, self reflection and higher meditation. Dropping at the right time, just as Spring gets into it's stride this is sun-shining, weed blowing, top-down rolling music.

A different sound to the ever deteriorating UK Rap scene, Dynamic really excels in standing apart from the generic wannabe american style london rappers. Play this in the whip and smoke with your peoples, with a shot of 'yak on ice.

Akua Konamah - German Whip Cover

Akua Konamah has been creating quite a buzz for herself with her rendition of the Grime Anthem - German Whip (See below we posted out earlier). In all honesty I thought this would be soooooo corny and lame, to my surprise it was uber cool and different, Akua cleverly puts her own spin on the track and mish-mashes the verses.
